A Craft Fair and More at
Bayport Methodist Church

 The
United Methodist Church in Bayport held a
craft and gift fair on Saturday, June 5 on
their grounds. It was a craft fair and so much
more with over 70 vendors in the church hall,
on the lawn and parking lot.
There was beautifully designed jewelry, items
for the home and garden, tote bags, paintings,
pillows, and homemade cupcakes, dips and rubs
for meat. A few vendors even catered to our
beloved pets with dog frames, leashes and
bags. Everyone stopped by the pottery table to
watch the live demonstration of the pottery
wheel. The "more" of the craft fair was the
vendors with different services - like Mary
Kay, tax consultants and hair stylists. The
church's thrift store - The Barn was open too.
For the kids there was a bounce house, face
painting and crafts.
After checking out all the vendors, the smell
of hot dogs and nachos lured you to the food
table run by the church. An opportunity table
was set up nearby with chances to win gift
certificate from many local restaurants and
stores.
Church members Charlotte Green and Denise
Darling organized the craft and gift fair. It
really is the first time for an event like
this. Last year the Methodist Church had a
yard sale on their lawn, but this craft fair
is on a much larger scale and they hope to do
it again next year. Charlotte said "We have
been planning it for months. It is a good way
to raise much needed money for our church."
There was lots of shopping and fun at this
successful event.
